PORN!
That got your attention, huh? *G*
You know, I've mentioned a few times lately how much I LOVE the new Star Trek movie -- obviously, or I wouldn't be dipping my foot into the fandom. I've watchedmy downloaded cam copy a dozen times, and I've loved it more and more each time. I have the release date of the DVD marked on my calendar.
Right now I'm reading the novelization, and I love THAT even more -- more story, more insight into the characters. I know it's not necessarily canon, but MAN. I need to get a hold of this in paperback, because it's one of those books I want to own, physically, you know? I want to have it on my bulging bookshelf and be able to pull it out and leaf through the pages. The writing isn't fantastic, but it adds so much RICHNESS to the story I already love.
If you're interested: Star Trek Movie Tie-In
by Alan Dean Foster
Plus, if you like Kirk/McCoy, you'll love it. Their interactions are the best.

Hey, speaking of Star Trek -- WRITING ALIEN PORN IS REALLY DIFFICULT! I mean... what do you call the parts? It's hard enough when you know exactly what they are and the various things they can be called! What if your porn star is not human? I've already established some physiological differences that are helpful rather than hindering, but... I'm still stuck in a couple of places.
... Later...
Okay, I just sort of winged it through, and... MY FIRST KINK FIC IS DONE! Well, the first draft is done, anyway. I'm always nervous writing in a new fandom, ESPECIALLY this one. ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY with a species that we don't really know that much about, physiologically. It will need a bit more work, but if anyone is interested in giving it a once over beta, I would be thrilled. It's Star Trek 2009, Gaila/Kirk, NC-17, mildly kinky (the kink is suspension), I guess, I don't know... there's zero gravity involved (WHICH I RESEARCHED!). Any takers? I'll be closing it up for tonight and taking another look tomorrow, but if you want a glance at the first draft to give me some notes, that would be awesome.
I'm still on schedule so far for
kink_bingo! Hmmmm. What should I work on next? I should probably go on with my next Gaila fic, since I'm already running in that direction anyway. *G* What a hardship.

None of the other books in the series had the same punch for me. :(
I'm addicted to Harry Dresden right now.
Colour Purple, or Angela's Ashes are pretty good reads too.
