C-A-TUR-DAY NIGHT! Or... day. Who knew the Bay City Rollers could sing LOLCat songs?
I just realized, probably half the people on my FList don't even know who the BCR are. Hee. I was never a huge fan, but a good friend of mine was. We would put on their records (on her analogue record player that looked like a denim box) and dance around singing and wishing we could wear our roller skates in the house.
I have to say, I'm blessed to have had such a fun, easy childhood. I mean, after the life-threatening disease was taken care of. But I don't even remember that (I was 4 when I had the open heart surgery to fix it) so it doesn't really count. *G*
Boy, I'm all Personal Details Girl today, aren't I? I feel kind of wonky -- too much sleep in the last couple of days, I think. Thursday I had to get up at HOLY SHIT in the morning -- like, with the farmers, ya'll -- to take my dad for cataract surgery (which I'm happy to report went really well. He keeps talking about how much brighter everything is when he closes the other eye. :)), and then slightly less ungodly hour yesterday to take him for his follow up appointment. So I was beat with a stick, because you know me and my disease and drug-addled ass, if I don't get at least 9 or 10 I'm a freaking mess, not to mention if I'm running on 4 or 6. So I pretty much hauled my ass back to bed for a "nap" (a skill I've never really picked up. When I'm asleep, I'm ASLEEP. I'm not waking up in now damn hour or whatever.) about noon time, and woke up... at 8:30 pm! Stayed up until 3 or 4 watching The L Word (only one season to go!) and then went BACK to bed. Woke up at a decent hour of 9:30. Not really enough sleep, but... I really SHOULD get up once I'm awake, or the whole nap thing starts all over again. But I figured, eh, I'll sleep another hour or so. Then woke up again at 12:30.
WTF? I'm never going to be able to reset my inner sleeping clock! Honestly? My ideal hours of sleep would be like, 4 am - Noon-ish, but my mother gets all up in my face about how unhealthy it is, and it's just easier to go to bed earlier and get up earlier than it is to have a bi-weekly fight about how I'm wasting my life by not sleeping at Mother-approved hours.
Wow, that's like, another rant entirely, isn't it? See, I told you I feel weird today!

Hey, you know what else June is besides Pride? It's Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat-Month!
I adopted my sweetie pies in May, but I celebrate all the time. Believe me, if I had my own home, I'd have two more cats, and two dogs besides. I hear people have been dumping their animals at shelters because they're too expensive to keep in this economy, and it really makes me sad. My family is barely getting by, but we would much rather have our furry friends living with us than have, say, cable TV. Just sayin'.

They will always be 10 in my head, and it squicks me out. Plus, none of them interest me romantically or sexually, so I don't have enough passion to ship any of them together. I've enjoyed some Harry/Draco on occasion, and I like AS/S era fic, plus MWPP Remus/Siris, Lily/James, but the current kids, mostly no)

What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3?
I love stories about them learning about each other's very different cultures... the hard way. Also, anytime they're naked together is happy fun time. *loves*
Which is your favorite moment for couple #1?
I can't pick just one. It's the fact that they're just *there* for one another, no matter what. Their affection and love for one another is just natural and easy -- the slash writes itself. Plus, if I remember my women's history correctly, it's entirely possible they might have been lovers, and nobody noticed or cared -- women were, after all, pretty much possessions back then, royalty or no.
How long have you been following couple #6?
Since I read DEAD TO THE WORLD back in 2004, but even more so once the show started and they cast Alexander Skarsgard (drool) as Eric. Re-read DttW, and bam, I loved them completely. Although really? They could ship Eric with a door stop and I'd be happy, as long as he's on screen a lot, and wearing a minimum of clothing.
What's the story with #8? What made you stop liking them/caring?
I don't know. I really still love old school Spike, but the combination of the re-tooling (heh) of his character, the retconning of his history, and the influx of new school "Spangel" fic that spent most of its time dissing Buffy just turned me off.

Well, #4, of course. My first ship, the ship of my heart. I adore #2, but #4 is the only reason I ever got involved in fandom and fanfic in the first place.

Well, there's the pretty boys doing it factor, but... there's something strangely comforting about the two brothers being lovers. Their entire lives have been one long lesson in fear, pain and loss, and the only constant has been each other. In their fucked up lives, it seems almost natural for them to be a couple. I don't necessarily ship them, but just the right fic can make Wincest seem obvious.
Why did you stop liking #7?
I didn't stop liking them so much as I just don't think about them much anymore. I don't give a crap about Tonks or canon or whatever, which I guess is why the pairing mostly died. If I had to ship anyone in HP, it would still be these two. And hasn't anybody ever heard of a BEARD? ;)
Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the show?
There were only 3 movies, and my interest pretty much died after the first one, so... the opposite was actually true.

Buffy/Faith? Wow, um... #1 Crush by Garbage? Something love/hate, or examining how they're the only two of their kind in the world, so of course they belong together.

NO. I don't pay any attention at all to the comics, but I doubt it. Whedon is an asshole that way. Among other ways.
