I let my paid LJ account lapse, as I just can't afford to pay for a journal right now. So THAT means cutting my icons down to SIX OMG. I have no idea what I'm going to do about that.

IWRY still turns me into a sobbing wreck ten years later! I'm doing my first rewatch of Angel in a year or more, and this is the first time I've been able to watch this episode. Now I can't stop blubbering like a baby.

WHYYYY JOSS WHEDON? WHYYYYYY? *sobs* And then RIGHT on top of that he lays HERO ON US! WAAAAAAH!

I'm really enjoying my rewatch -- it's the first one in a while. I'm up to mid season 2 now, and I have to say: I STILL feel like the Fang Gang failed Angel far more than he failed them. They let him keep pushing them away, they didn't even try to understand what he might be going through. They just hemmed and hawed and mocked, and then when he had a total nervous breakdown, THEY got all butt hurt and made HIM grovel! Feh. With friends like that...

Phew. I actually have been at this on and off all day while nursing a headache and OMG FRETTING OVER TRUE BLOOD!

Via my darling kita0610: A touching tribute to John Hughes from a fan. He meant a lot to some of us in my generation, including me -- I always felt like he got what being a teenager was like in the 80's, and gave us awesome stories and iconic characters to boot.

Interesting tidbit: ever since I changed my sexual orientation to "Bisexual" on Facebook, ALL I GET are ads for lesbian dating services. Um... I don't think "bisexual" means what you think it means, Facebook.

This just blew me away. One of my best friends from high school pointed out that ANOTHER of my best friends since, like, forever, is now a doctor, and donates services to foster children in Florida. It just totally brought tears to my eyes. He and I used to be very close, once upon a time. He was a big part of my shennanigans!

Not that I don't love Spock and Jimmy T. and the other boys on the bridge, but my heart lies with Gaila, Uhura, Chapel, poor misused Yeoman Rand and Number One.

So, you guys all know I share a home with my folks. My mother runs the place like the crazy (but mostly harmless) passive-aggressive tyrant that she is. When the folks are gone, you know what my rebellions are? I leave the dishes in the sink OVERNIGHT! *gasp* I don't scrub out the catbox EVERY TIME I CHANGE IT! OMG! I have nachos for dinner! I stay up until 5 am and sleep all day! I don't get the mail until EVENING! I drink AN ENTIRE POT OF COFFEE ALL BY MYSELF! I AM SUCH A REBEL!

My teenaged self would die of shame. LOL

I'm very sad to say this, but I think my involvement in True Blood fandom may not be long for this world. The ship wars are heating up, and I'm sick to fucking DEATH already of "OMG BILL/SOOKEH AND OOH THEY'RE GETTING MARRIED IN REAL LIFE!" And "I'm so glad blah blah blah because I don't like the books/I love the books/I hate the show/I love the show. ERICBILLERICBILLERICBILL." BLARGH.

I did this fucking go round once already, and I'm not doing it again. I honestly could care LESS about Bill or Sookie, actually. If they went away and left the rest of the cast, I'd be perfectly happy. I don't hate the characters, but man am I starting to not like their fans. This whole sensation is so deja vu, I'm thinking about dropping all my True Blood communities before the bs completely ruins the show for me. And there is NOTHING worse than a creator who fucking contradicts himself every other time he talks. Been THERE, done THAT and REALLY not interested in doing it again. I'd prefer what I WANT, not what I NEED when it comes to my entertainment, thanks. Either tell the fucking truth or keep your mouth fucking shut.

I also think I'm going to make a rule at trueblood_squee, if I decide to keep it open: NO SHIPPING. Period. Unless it's Jessica/Hoyt (because who doesn't love Jessica/Hoyt). And no Bill vs. Eric ANYTHING. I'm fucking sick to death of it already, and we're barely just over halfway through the second season. If you love Bill, GREAT, you can say so WITHOUT BASHING ERIC. Love Eric? AWESOME, you can say THAT without dissing Bill. It's fucking annoying, people, and take it from me, IT RIPS FANDOMS APART AND MAKES IT REALLY HARD TO ENJOY THE SOURCE MATERIAL.

Man, I am tired and cranky today. Which is weird because I slept so well and with full CPAP gear for a good 9 hours. Plus, the fam has gone off for a week's vacation...somewhere that is NOT HERE. So now I'm going to get tired and sick? But of course.
